The 4th grade of the Higher Technological College Perg recently went on a school trip to one of Europe’s most iconic cities: London.
After arriving at the airport and taking a long ride on the Tube to our hotel, we went straight to Oxford Street, one of London’s most famous shopping areas. Then we grabbed something to eat and met up with our teachers at Hyde Park, where we got to hang out and relax for the rest of the day.
The next day, we had a guided tour with a local guide, who showed us many royal landmarks, and we even got to witness the Changing of the Guards. In the evening, we wrapped up the day with a ride on the London Eye, where we enjoyed a breathtaking view of the bustling city from above.
After a good night’s sleep at the Wembley International Hotel, we went on a hop-on hop-off tour through London. It was a great opportunity to see the city’s most iconic sights. That was also the day Samuel discovered Honest Burgers, a burger restaurant with affordable options in an otherwise quite expensive city. It ended up saving us a lot of money throughout the week and served some of the best burgers we’ve ever had. In the afternoon, we had time to visit one of London’s many museums.
On Wednesday, we visited some historically important sights, including the Tower of London with its Crown Jewels exhibition, along with displays on arms and war history, and even a torture exhibition. After another lunch at Honest Burgers, some of us visited Wembley Stadium, where we received a full tour of the facility. The rest of the group had a relaxing afternoon in Hyde Park or strolled through the city. In the evening, some students took the opportunity to watch a musical or go to the cinema.
After some toast and cereal for breakfast, we visited one of the most famous tourist attractions in London: Madame Tussauds. Featuring everything from Dua Lipa and KSI to Hulk, Star Wars, and the Royal Family, it’s fair to say this was an experience we’ll never forget. Our next stop was Camden Town, one of the most unique and unusual places in London. Suddenly, it felt more like a Turkish bazaar than an orderly European capital. In the evening, some of us went to a pub to let the last day fade out with a cold beverage.
Then the last day was already here. The week went by way too fast. At 9 o’clock, we had to check out of the hotel, but we still had the chance to visit one last museum—or just hang out in Hyde Park one last time.
That concludes our unforgettable week in one of Europe’s biggest and most exciting cities. We had an absolutely great time—and some of us may have even discovered a new love for traveling abroad.
